Ambellina Shoot

After the success of yesterdays shoot, I managed to get alternative model Ambellina to come along to shoot at short notice, no plan just an improvised shoot for more fun!

Again, shot in my flat with natural light and flash and edited in Photoshop. More success, very striking images that are again different to anything else I have in my portfolio.

Ambellina was great fun, very chatty and down to earth, intelligent and focused. Amazing girl, hope to work with her again! I'm sure she has a very bright future ahead of her, whatever she ends up doing!

Laura Cross Shoot

My first photoshoot in ages! Working with experienced model Laura Cross, we wanted to create some simple fashion images, unlike anything that I had shot previously. I want to move away from the burlesque and pin-up, as lovely as it is, I think I've taken it as far as I can for the time being.

For this shoot I was inspired by adverts for American Apparel and Topshop, clean, fresh, simple images that are all about the clothes.

We shot in my appartment, with natural light and my flashgun on the plain walls of the flat, which magically transformed into a lovely make-shift studio!

Let's hope this is the start of many more successful shoots!

Cecilia Rouge Photoshoot

My second photoshoot with burlesque lady Cecilia Rouge. This one was commissioned by the Leeds based burlesque dancer. Ths shoot was inspired by Cecil Beaton (as usual!) And was a homage to some of his fashion portraits of the 1920's. The set and styling was done by myself and Cecilia did her own hair and makeup.

The Dress is made from plastic sheeting, balloons and embellished with sequinned trims that Cecilia picked up on her trip to New York at the start of this year.

The background is made up of tin foil and tacky tinsel background off Ebay. The whole shoot was shot in my tiny flat with two desk lamps for lighting. The shoot was edited in Photoshop.

Bang Bang Vintage Shoot

This was a particularly big shoot, a collaboration with Louise at Bang Bang Vintage in Sheffield, with for the first time for me as a photographer, a full creative team, amazing location and two fabulous models. The photographs are to be used on some of the shops future publicity material and the last photographer to work on this project was the amazing India Hobson, so I had alot to live up to!

We teamed up with my favourite model, Beckiiimay and agency model Stephanie Jade; two hair stylists from Hair Kandi in Sheffield, Make-up artist Emily Bickerstaff from Sheffield, styling from the wonderful Louise Whitehead from Bang Bang Vintage in Sheffield and we got the chance to use the amazing new bar in Sheffield, Soyo. What an oppourtunity! I just hope that I have done everyone justice, I am delighted with many of the photos, but can't stop thinking that I could have done better....it's just a completely new experience when you have so many people involved and so many people spectating whilst I work and I'm not used to that yet.

However, it was a delight to meet and work with everyone involved and brilliant to create something completely unlike the rest of my portfolio so far. Daniel Shoot

This was a weird shoot for a number of reasons. Firstly, it was weird because Daniel got in touch with me nearly a year after we first met, we met when we were both extras on a DFS commercial and he remembered me mentioning I was a photographer, so a year later I get this email along the lines of, I know this is random but I hope you remember me and would you like to do a test shoot. So I agreed because I don't have many male models in my portfolio and also I liked the randomness of the situation. The other reason why it was a weird shoot was because I'm not at all use to shooting with guys, after a year of shooting predominatly glamourous, sparcely dressed Burlesquers this was quite difficult for me! I haven't a clue about men's fashion or modelling and due to the last minute nature of the shoot did not have chance to research much. So in the end it was just a complete improvisation, some of the photographs are excellent some are not so much. Just goes to show that I need more practise!

Was particularly nice to finally get to make the most of the wonderful weather we've had lately, we shot on location on and around Leeds University campus and used natural light, which was tweaked later in Photoshop.

Candy Candy Jewellery Shoot

Helena at Candy Candy Jewellery got in touch when I advertised that I had some free studio time, she brought along two dressses she had designed for herself and also some of her lovely accessories. The plan was for Helena to model them all, but Frankii Wilde was up for hanging around to model them, this was my favourite photo from the shoot.

Was great to shoot something with more of a traditional fashion theme. I hope to collaborate with Helena at Candy Candy again with a location shoot, which we both felt might compliment the designs more than in a studio shoot.

Frankii Wilde Photoshoot

Was contacted by the lovely Frankii Wilde, burlesque lady and model from Middlesborough a few weeks ago for a test shoot, so we worked together last week. No plan just asked Frankii to bring whatever she wanted to wear and we improvised.

Frankii brought some awesome things and was an amazing girl to work with, natural model and great clothes, makeup and styling.
